"Knock em down! FRANZ! LOCKSLEY!" Dominic's shiny Scyther landed roughly on the raft, causing it to sway back and forth, while the Eelektross simply levitated, ripples of electricity running through its body.

Charpie reached for her pokeballs but fumbled, dropping them onto the raft. It was hard using one hand to reach for two balls. Face heating up, she hurried to pick them up before something worse happened.

"H3h3h3h3h3h3h3h33h3h3h3! T3H TUBB13  CR1PL3 1S H4V1NG 1SSU3S!"

Charpie could feel her mouth tighten as she balanced both balls in her hand. She took a deep breath. She could do this, despite a broken arm, and almost dropping her pokeballs into the water, she could win this round. She put too much hard work into the past couple of days working with her pokemon and in those few days Charpie saw improvement in all of them, including herself. And while her carelessness got her hurt with Temeraire, it didn't mean that she couldn't still do it.

Charpie threw the pokeballs in one at a time. "GO GLORIA! VERDE!"

Charpie's Ninetails, Gloria, landed in front of her gracefully, bringing herself close to her trainer and narrowing her eyes at the opponents ahead. Her other pokemon, a Roselia named Verde, had a different approach to her entrance. As soon as her pokeball opened, a shower of petals flew out with a tumbling Verde following right after and flying ahead of the falling props. She landed with a cheerleader-like split right next to Gloria, letting the petals rain upon her, and the rest of the raft for that fact.

Charpie just sighed. She wouldn't have expected anything less.

Obviously lacking tolerance for her antics, Gloria let Verde know how she felt with a low growl. Unaffected by the intent but understanding the message, Verde fixed herself as she saw the opponents ahead of her. The short pokemon looked them over, only to be disappointed by the lack of females. Her discontent hung in her expression.

"Verde, please focus. I need you to take this one seriously," Charpie explained quickly with Gloria barking in her own opinion. Verde gave a mock salute and struck a battle ready pose worthy of any martial arts movie. Charpie couldn't help but smile but turned back to the other pokemon. She had to think quickly.

The other two had the advantage with the ability to stay off the raft while her pokemon obviously couldn't. Yet she couldn't let the battle take place where she was, not unless she wanted to end up in the water. There was also the difficulty of their size and type, both challenges but not impossible.

"Take it to the next raft, girls, and split. GO!" In an instant Verde was riding Gloria's back as the Ninetails quickly leaped onto the other raft before the others could react. The Roselia wasn't just enjoying the ride either. As soon as they landed on the raft, she raced up Gloria's neck and jumped at the Eelektross while summoning her Magical Leaf attack.  While her attack made it out of range and eventually struck, Verde was unlucky enough to get sprayed by Acid Rain, the Eeletross's signature opening move.

Gloria, on the other hand, was busy dealing with the Scyther. As she flew over the water, the flying bug took to the air, narrowly avoiding the Ninetails as she landed. Leaving her partner to her own devices, Gloria, bared her teeth, as she was limited by the raft in going after her opponent.

"Locksley, get her with Night Slash!" Reacting to his trainer's command, Locksley was able to close the distance quickly and struck Gloria, but not before the Ninetails got in an attack of her own. While Gloria was recoiling from the attack, Locksley was enjoying a spray of Will-O-Wisp.

"Good job!" Charpie cheered but her attention quickly turned to Verde, who was barely recovering from the Eelektross' Acid. Charpie noticed the eel advancing. "VERDE, look out!"

The Roselia quickly looked up in time to see the Eelektross shooting out a Charge Beam at her. Sharp reflexes in action, she back flipped out of the way, just in time to miss getting hit by the attack. Gloria also barely missed getting hit, having swiftly moved out of the way but was subjected to another attack by the Scyther from the distraction. As soon as she landed, Verde sent out another wave of Magical Leaves, hitting its intended target.

Shaking off the effects of Verde's attack, Dominic's Eelektross, growled from being hit twice by the small pokemon. He advanced again, this time gearing up for a Flamethrower. He would end this now.

Charpie saw it. "GLORIA!"

Enchanted by the impending fire, Verde froze in her place, unable to move out of the way. But she wasn't done for. As fast as she could, Gloria raced in front of Verde, taking the brunt of the attack and shielding her partner.

"Brilliant!" Charpie cried out. "Gloria, use Flamethrower now!" Eyes glowing and fur bristling, the Ninetails shot out an explosive attack, all thanks to the Eelektross and her Flash Fire ability.

"FRANZ MOVE YOUR ASS!" Dominic yelled, with little Reggie shouting out a chorus after him but Franz stood no chance of moving out of the way from the explosion of flames. The Eelektross flew back with the attack and fainted into the water.

While extremely relieved that they were one pokemon down, Charpie was also worried.
Gloria benefited from the fire type attack and took the brunt of it, but Verde didn't, and was slightly burned. Though not completely out of the game, the Roselia was getting low on energy. It didn't help that while Gloria was busy dealing with the Eelektross, Verde was left open to deal with Locksley.

As soon as he saw his chance, the young Scyther shot down towards the grass pokemon. Charpie called out to her, in a bit of a panic. "VERDE, try to get him with cut!" Getting up as quickly as she could, Verde raced towards him, roses ready to cut him as soon as she was close enough. For what it was worth, it was a good attack but Locksley was ready, letting his one of his forearms absorb the attack and using the other to counter with Fury Cutter. It only took three strikes before Verde was knocked out cold. Moments later, Locksley was down next to her, the burns from Gloria's Will-O-Wisp taking their toll.

Both trainers called back their fallen pokemon. Dominic quickly sent out another. "Get in there, Ink!" A thin black Ninetails, the one named Ink, landed in front of Gloria, gently shaking the raft back and forth. He looked Gloria up and down, grinning at what he saw. He took a step forward, wiggling his eyebrows. Gloria growled, and took a few steps back, obviously trying to lengthen the distance between them.

Charpie fumbled again to get her next pokemon out but Dominic was already on it. "Ink,
get her with a dark pulse."

Charpie recovered, miraculously not dropping the ball this time. She didn't have a moment to spare. "Gloria! QUICK ATTACK!" However, the dark Ninetails was faster, sending out a wave of dark energy that promptly hit Gloria hard enough to make her flinch.

Dominic grinned while his Ratatta cheered from his shoulder. "Hit her again, Ink!" As Gloria staggered to adjust herself, she was hit again by another wave and knocked back down. Except that she didn't get up.

Dominic carelessly ran a hand through his mohawk. "That's how we roll," he said.

Though her heart and mind were racing, Charpie took another deep breath to settle herself down the best she could. She was only down two pokemon, the same as him. She could still win, especially with her next choice. She set the pokeball in the crook of her bad arm, while she called back Gloria with her good arm. She took hold of the other pokeball and let it loose. "Go Louie!"

Her Feraligatr, Louie, landed on the raft, only to quickly slip into the water. Charpie looked ahead, wanting end this quickly if she wanted Louie to be in top form for the next possible pokemon. She got right down to business. "Louie, use Surf!"

Acknowledging the command with the submerging of his body, Louie dove under only to quickly circle back towards his opponent. Charpie felt her own raft rise up and down until finally a large wave formed in front of her, moving towards the other.

Ink didn't stand a chance. Stuck on the raft with nothing but his kryptonite surrounding him, he was left with no choice but to watch the impressive wave crash down on him, taking the raft and all of Ink's consciousness with it.

Dominic scowled and called Ink back to his pokeball. Charpie knew that he was flipping through his remaining pokemon. Out of the three that he had left, his Nidoking and Scolliopede needed a raft to battle on, but Louie took care of that. That left him with one logical choice, Charpie concluded.

Her hunch was confirmed as she saw Dominic take out his great ball and released what was inside. "LET'S SHOW THEM WHAT WE GOT! LETS GO, KASA!"

Charpie couldn't help but grin as she took out Temeraire's pokeball. She had broken her arm for this moment. Now it was time to see if it was worth it. She released Temeraire into the battle.

If he was willing to go all out, so was she.
